TL;DR snapshot

A premium fashion retailer that sells brands like Armani, Hugo Boss, and Calvin Klein struggled to make Google Ads profitable. Their tracking was incomplete, their conversions were inflated, and their campaigns weren’t aligned with their actual business performance.

We rebuilt the tracking system from scratch, restructured the Search and Shopping campaigns, and implemented a profit-based optimization system.

The result: +178% revenue growth from $0.7 million to $1.96 million YoY with the same advertising budget. The order value grew by 3.5x.

Challenge

  • Rebuild the tracking infrastructure to ensure accurate, profit-based conversion measurement.

  • Restructure search and shopping campaigns to eliminate inefficiencies and improve ROI.

  • Segment campaigns by brand tier, margin, and intent for smarter budget control.

  • Integrate sales margin data into conversion tracking to increase bidding efficiency.

What we did and why

Phase 1

Tracking Fixes
  • Implemented GA4 + Google Ads order-level revenue tracking

  • Rebuild the tracking infrastructure to ensure accurate measurement of all sales and key events

  • Mapped conversions to realized profit (excluding returns)

Why

To ensure data accuracy and steer marketing campaigns based on true ROI

Phase 2

Search Campaign Restructure
  • Restructured Search campaigns by brand and product category

  • Focused budgets on high-margin, high-conversion items

  • Deployed Dynamic Search Ads (DSA) + Remarketing Lists (RLSA) for incremental reach

Why

To improve relevance, capture more qualified searches, and drive profitable sales

Phase 3

Performance Max Overhaul
  • Replaced the inefficient “catch-all” Shopping setup with tiered Performance Max campaigns

Premium tier (Armani, Hugo Boss) → isolated with dedicated budgets

Mid-tier brands → grouped for efficiency

Low-priority SKUs → consolidated under strict budget caps

Why

To improve relevance, capture more qualified searches, and drive profitable sales

Phase 4

Profit Control System
    • Monthly reallocation of spend based on:

    • Product margins

    • Stock availability

    • Fulfillment success rates

  • Integrated a partner-level profit tracking layer for full transparency on campaign level financial contribution
